Attendance Case Management

LESD interns provide attendance monitoring for students to support daily attendance. Individualized attendance plans are created in collaboration with students and their families.

Student Groups

  • 5th Grade Girl Empowerment Group (Spring) This group aims to boost self-confidence through learning mindfulness and identifying strengths to express a positive attitude, celebrate diversity, and create a promising outlook on the future.
  • Friendship Group (K-5th Grade) This group aims to teach and practice social skills with students. It also encourages students to foster peer connections, identify and cope with feelings, and to enhance social abilities.
  • PeaceMakers This group consists of 3rd grade students trained in the area of problem-solving and conflict resolution to help minimize incidences at the yard during K-2 AM recess.
  • Mindful Mondays (Morning Recess) This group aims to help improve emotion regulation for students through mindfulness based practices such as yoga, meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, visual imagery, etc. This group serves as a safe and quiet space for students to recenter for the remainder of the day.

Second Step

Second Step is an evidence based program that educates students about social, emotional and behavioral well-being. Weekly lessons are facilitated by the LESD Interns throughout the school year.
